The Williams-Brice House built in 1916 by the Moses & Phelps families, the house was given by the Williams-Brice estate for use as a museum in 1972. The Sumter County Genealogical Society took up residence on the front, ground floor (basement) level of the house in November 2012.

Usual query charges start at $30.00, a nonrefundable deposit which also covers the first hour of research, each additional hour price varies depending on who contract researcher is. Copies and mailing charges are extra. It is very important to make your request as specific as possible. The research center is closed for all major holidays. Call ahead for updated days and hours of operation. To use our research library it is a daily fee of $20.00 for non-members or FREE for current members.
The objectives of the Sumter County Genealogical Society are to raise the standard of genealogical research and stimulate interest in genealogy through educational programs, workshops, publication of a newsletter, and collecting and promoting the collection of early records.
